In January
2008 the Belgian, the Danish and the Dutch
miniature horse associations met. The outcome
of the meeting was an agreement upon close
cooperation and the following web site:
European United Miniature Horse Association
- EUMHA.
This is a union between acknowledged pedigree-recording
breeding associations. Initially the cooperation
consists of the boards from Belgium, Denmark,
Holland and their members.
Other acknowledged pedigree-recording breeding
associations can be admitted in the cooperation.
The aim of EUMHA is to strengthen the cooperation
across borders by conducting shows and selections
and in the long run work towards a more
uniform set of rules.
The web site is also meant as a tool towards
strengthening the unity among people interested
in the miniature horse in Europe and to
profile the miniature horse breed in Europe.
A member of BMP, DMHF or NMPRS is able
to participate in each other's shows by
contacting one's own breeding association;
one's breeding association will then forward
the registration. As a member of one of
the above mentioned breeding associations
one can advertise horses and equipment for
sale on the web site.
Sponsors are important for the cooperation
since they sponsor the web site and international
prizes.
The cooperation will unite more than 1,300
miniature horse breeders in Europe; this
is the biggest initiative taken to unify
Europe. We hope the members of the breeding
associations in Europe will support this
initiative.
